Angie Hatch, LPC/ CSAT / CDWF - candidate Psychotherapist/ Supervisor
As early as a teen, I recognized I was drawn to the field of Psychology. However, it wasn’t until I experienced my own life-changing circumstances and healing, did I find the courage and motivation to go after that goal. What I’ve discovered is that we can find our deepest meaning and growth in those face down moments. Sometimes we just need the help to get unstuck. As we heal, the beliefs we have about ourselves change and we become who we are truly meant to be. I feel honored to be with you in your struggle and I recognize the courage and vulnerability it takes to share your story.
Growing up in the military and living in Europe for 9 of those years, I learned resilience and how to adapt to life changes. I graduated early from high school and went on to attend Brigham Young University-Idaho, where I earned an Associate degree in Psychology. I was married young and then earned my Bachelor in Business Marketing from Arizona State. Three children and 11 years later, I faced unforeseen life changes which led me to my career as a Therapist. I earned my Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University and started over. Out of all the schooling and education, I’ve gained, my BEST education was my own personal work. I love the quote by Pema Chödrön, “Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.”
