We all are looking for peace in our lives. While therapy is often about the things that hurt and can bring up very painful feelings, ultimately therapy is about experiencing healing and joy. I believe that your healing and your story matter. Often times our stories get lost and distorted, or even buried. My hope is to dig up that story with you and rewrite it in a way that brings beauty and goodness to your life.
I have spent most of my life in Arizona and found my way to becoming a counselor through personal experience which included using art and creativity as a way to heal and express difficult emotions. I have my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy from Prescott College. Along with being a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) I am also a trained and registered Art Therapist (ATR-P). I love working with all ages but have a soft spot for teenagers and young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, or difficulty in life transitions. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and am excited to be working with couples who are seeking deeper connection in their relationship. I am also available for working with families and enjoy supporting parents and children to develop healthier ways of communicating.
I am actively involved in the SABR program here at Family Strategies and am trained in working with sexual addiction and betrayal trauma.
On a personal note, I love to drink iced coffee, go to garage sales, make pottery, check out the local art scene with my hubby and spend time with my two amazing kiddos.
