What is DBT?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy is designed for both adults and youth to learn better ways of regulating and managing emotions. This is accomplished by helping clients learn to balance changes with acceptance. It has been found to be especially effective in working with teens as this is a stage of life when managing emotions can be especially difficult. This group is designed to help teens who struggle with issues of depression, self-esteem, anxiety, self-harm, anger and other forms of emotional distress. It is a mixed group of both men and women, and curriculum will focus on four principle learning areas:
- Interpersonal Effectiveness
- Regulating Emotions
- Dealing with Emotional Distress
The group cost is $50 weekly tuition paid on the first of each month. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. Participants must first register and meet with a therapist for an initial intake session, before coming to group.
