Suicide Response

Family Strategies’ therapists stand ready to help parents, partners, siblings, and adult extended family members process and heal from the trauma of suicidal loss.  This support is available for those who have suffered from the inevitable emotional devastation.  Private sessions can be scheduled to process the events surrounding the loss, understand emotional vulnerability, and hold the many questions that suicide often brings to family and friends of the suicide victims.  After appropriate individual therapy, group therapy is also available on a monthly basis to lend additional support on the grief journey.

Suicide Prevention

Family Strategies’ therapists also believe that suicide prevention education is essential for timely understanding of the difficulties that often face those who have suicidal ideation.  Psychoeducation is available to help parents, partners, siblings, and adult extended family members respond to symptoms indicative of suicide potential.  Educational seminars can be scheduled for small or large groups so all interested parties can speak freely of what is known and not known about the patterns of suicide.   In addition, information will be shared about skills that will improve the likelihood that those who cause concern will choose healthier alternatives than suicide as they cope with life’s challenges, stresses, and disappointments.
