Katie Workman/intern

Katie has always had a special place in her heart for therapy. She has seen first-hand how life-changing and beneficial the outcomes of healing can be and has deeply felt the call to help others find their way to peace. Katie strongly believes in the power of individuals, couples, and families to alter frustrating and disheartening patterns; changing for the better long term. Though this can sometimes feel like a daunting task, Katie is committed to helping you on your journey. Through her own personal life-changing experiences, Katie has become well acquainted with pain and healing. She honors the bravery and vulnerability it takes to seek counseling, work toward healing, and share your story.

Katie feels privileged to work with a team of therapists who are certified to administer the SABR program which deals specifically with sexual compulsivity and betrayal trauma. Working with women who are in crisis is an area of special interest and experience for her.

Katie is eager to help couples achieve greater intimacy on every level resulting in stronger, more securely attached relationships. Her focus on intimacy with couples takes seriously an individuals' relationship to themselves; including their sexual development and identity, body image, self-esteem and so forth, with a special sensitivity to spirituality and faith.

Katie has a passion for strengthening families through couples' work, parenting education, and has a particular affinity for teaching life skills to small children.

On a personal note, Katie has been married for 12 years and has four incredible children. As a family, they love to try new things, explore new places, and share pizookies! In her spare time, Katie enjoys reading, traveling, and hunting for records to add to her collection. Katie was born and raised in Arizona but has lived all over the United States.

Katie has a bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University and is currently completing her master's degree in Licensed Professional Counseling at Grand Canyon University.
