LifeSTAR — Phase One

This six week workshop will provide the basics for getting started in recovery for pornography and sexual addiction. It is the first phase of the LifeSTAR program. Concepts of addiction development and application of the tools for sobriety will be taught. It is appropriate for both single men and couples. Workbooks and materials are included. You must pre-register to attend. It is highly recommended that participants have a primary therapist while attending the course.

Women's Codependency Class

February 4, Thursday, 4:00-5:30pm $200/month

Recovery from codependency requires finding genuine, healthy sources for a positive self-esteem, to replace the negative ones. It is also good for the codependent individual to find productive and fulfilling activities. This twelve week course is designed to teach the basic principals of codependency as well as give tools to help face the challenges of relationships. Pre-registration is required.

These six-week parenting classes are designed to help parents learn fun and effective ways to discipline their children while maintaining their sanity. The classes are based on the Love and LogicŪ curriculum. Participants will learn how to eliminate power struggles, setting and enforce limits, communicate without arguing, how to get their kids to do their chores, how to solve battles over homework, and much more. The class includes a workbook and a full-length Love and LogicŪ parenting book in book form or on audio cd. Psychodrama Directors Training

March 5-7, Fri-Sun, 9:00-4:00pm  

This three day psychodrama directing intensive is designed specifically for professionals with experience in directing who are interested in sharpening their skills and adding new ones to their toolbox. A safe and supportive environment will be created to offer participants an opportunity to sharpen their skills in role of director. Topics covered include sociometric and group psychotherapy skills, structure of the drama, using auxiliaries, containment, and expansion. Are there power struggles with your children? Do you struggle to set limits in a loving way? Do you need your kids to listen the first time without warning or threatening them? Shiloh Lundahl is a certified instructor for the acclaimed "Love and Logic" program. His seminar will give a general overview of the different parenting styles and how to begin to set healthy limits. You will be able to identify your mode of discipline, and new ways of working with your children. There will be time for individual questions and answers. There is no cost to attend this seminar.

Roadmap to Decrease Anxiety

This seminar is designed to give a basic "roadmap" to identifying triggers and decreasing the impact of anxiety. We will discuss the physiological affects of anxiety and common practical tools to find your way out of anxiety. There is no cost for this seminar, so set your worries aside and come learn some new tools to decrease your anxiety.

Bishops Training: Pornography Addiction

This seminar is specifically intended for LDS church leaders who have members of their congregation who are struggling with pornography or other forms of sexual compulsion. We will explain the addiction pattern, causation, and treatment plan. Ideas and suggestions will be given to aid church leaders in their spiritual efforts to support those who are struggling along with their spouse. We will have a question/answer period to address specific concerns that may apply to the LDS community. There is no cost to attend this seminar.

Parenting in a World of Pornography

April 15, Thursday, 12:00-1:00pm FREE

This seminar will address concerns and questions that parents and church leaders have regarding pornography. We will address ways of preventing pornography exposure with your children, including suggestions for computer filters. We will also discuss the reasons why children become quickly "hooked" and what to do if your child has a pornography problem. There is no cost to attend this seminar. (Participants are welcome to bring lunch during the noon presentation.)

Overcoming Shame

Shame is at the core of every addiction. If you do not heal the shame, there will be no long-lasting recovery. Shame is often the most difficult aspect of addition to overcome. How do you do it? How do you help a family member? As a church leader, how do you encourage members of your congregation? This seminar will give an overview of toxic shame versus guilt, and teach how this fosters addictive cycles. We will discuss tools and strategies for resolving unhealthy toxic shame. There is no cost to attend this seminar.

You Don't Have to Make Everything Better
