Thomas Olsen / Intern
Having completed his bachelor’s degree in 2014 at Arizona State University, Thomas is currently finishing his master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Grand Canyon University. While working as a behavior coach, Thomas provided in-home services to children, adolescents, and families. Prior to pursuing a master’s degree, he also worked with men striving to overcome sexual addiction.
Thomas works with adolescents, adults, and couples looking to find healing and purpose again in their life by utilizing mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, psycho-education, narrative therapy and positive psychotherapy approaches. His interest in working with those who struggle with sexually compulsive or addictive behaviors makes him a good fit for the services offered at Family Strategies. If you long for a closer relationship with your spouse or a more positive relationship with your family, Thomas desires to help. In addition, Thomas works with individuals looking for healing from trauma and adoptive families looking for additional support.
Along with being passionate about helping others through therapy, Thomas is also passionate about his family, sports, exercising, reading, and movies (especially superhero films). He currently hosts a podcast called Superhero MovieCast, which focuses on discussing inspiring themes of superhero movies. He also loves spending time with his wife and their newborn daughter who they recently had the blessing of adopting.
