Julie Young - LAC, CSAT-C
Julie Young is a Licensed Associate Counselor at Family Strategies who received her masters in the Science of Counseling at the University of Phoenix in Arizona and a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University. She completed her internship at Family Transitions working with those convicted of sex offenses to understand the offense cycle, intimacy cycle, and the role shame plays in their lives.
Julie has extensive training in anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma and problems with regulating emotions, sexual addiction, and intimacy-blocking behaviors.
Julie’s treatment style is eclectic utilizing various treatment modalities from a trauma-informed, cognitive-behavioral perspective, DBT, mindfulness practices as well as motivational interviewing and shame resilience techniques. Her approach to treatment is from a place of empathy and unconditional positive regard for her clients in order to create a safe and trusting therapeutic alliance.
